Previously assigned to the USS Seahawk as Public relations officer, we met Roberts in the pilot episode and then as a recurring character during the first season until he became a regular character during the second season.
He was then assigned to assist Cmrd Rabb and Major MacKenzie at JAG while studying for his law degree and to become a JAG officer himself, he was recommended for this postby Meg Austin who is now currently assigned elsewhere. He gained a promotion to Lt (j.g.) during his own promotion from guest to regular character.
He met Ensign Harriet Sims during an investigation on the USS Seahawk, where she had taken over his role as Public Relations officer. Harriet too then moved to JAG HQ. And Bud and Harriet then became involved in a relationship while working together.
They were married in a traditional naval wedding ceremony, and Harriet gave birth to there son, AJ Roberts.
